- We were married March 30, 2006.
- We are expecting our first child in May.
- Elisha has agreed that I do not have to change any diapers.
- I proposed at the Bountiful Temple. I propose again every time we visit a temple together for the first time. (Seven so far)
- Our song is "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."
- We met in November of 2002.
- Elisha liked my brother first.
- We want a Great Dane.
- The farthest we've traveled together is Brasil.
- My mom set us up.
- We are both alumni of Sister Sue High School.
- We each have a brother-in-law named Jeremy.
- We saw Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on the night we met.
- We attend Sister Sue High School's Homecoming Dance every year.
- We may have met for the first time at the open house for the Bountiful Temple. I went there for a tour and Elisha was a volunteer. She may have been the girl that gave me the booties to cover my shoes.
- I was unemployed when I proposed to her; she said yes anyway.
- We were both at the gold medal hockey game for the 2002 Paralympics, seated just rows apart from each other. This was 9 months before we met.
- I wrote Elisha over 20 letters (sort of) while she was on her mission, and we weren't even dating.
- Elisha probably wrote me less than 10 letters in return.
- We honeymooned in Las Vegas. We both hate Las Vegas. (Sorry Janae)
- Currently, our favorite TV show is How I Met Your Mother.
- Jason likes to cook more than Elisha does. Elisha does most of the cooking.
- So far, every couple we have set up has gotten married.
- We are going on a European vacation, including a Mediterranean Cruise when we are both done with our Bachelor's degrees.
- Our favorite thing to do is to talk to each other.

25 Random Things about US as a Couple
It finally happened: Elisha and I got tagged. Sort of. It's a voluntary one. But since we originally decided to do this blog so that people could get to know us better as a couple I decided that we'd participate. So here are 25 things that you may or may not know about our Couplehood, as written by Jason:

Belly Update!
We are getting very excited, yet we still have that surreal, not sure it's real feeling. I know I whine a lot about it not feeling real yet, but she agrees. She still feels like it hasn't sunk in all the way yet. The baby moves a lot now, so that makes it more apparent that something is happening.
Elisha still hasn't had any major cravings; I'm starting to feel useless, for she hasn't sent me to the store in the middle of the night yet. Maybe that's because I'm usually at the store, and she doesn't want to send me back. On the other hand, I've been really lucky that she hasn't decided to start hating any foods yet either. I was really afraid that because of some random scent during her pregnancy, I'd never be able to enjoy my favorite foods again.
Elisha did start to get a nesting urge the other day. I'm trying to convince her to put those off until spring break. Partly because of the week off from school, but mainly because we want to get new carpet before the baby comes, and that will be how we spend our tax return.

Please Help
Hello friends and family,
We want to notify you of an important occurrence that can and may affect all of us. The Southern Utah Services to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing is in trouble of losing many of its services. People can go to the office (1067 E. Tabernacle #10, St. George) to learn sign language, learn about hard of hearing classes and devices, practice interpreting and signing, and attend many educational classes. Many who are deaf, becoming deaf, and hard of hearing, along with their families, use the services. It is the ONLY place in Southern Utah that offers help and support to those feeling lost and those wanting to learn.
With the economy going down, the state has had to cut funds. The Deaf & Hard of Hearing offices in Southern Utah and Taylorsville have already cut many positions, and have to cut more. The Southern Utah office is small, with only 3 employees.
We are pleading with you to write to your state and city senator and representatives (by Jan 22) to not cut services provided by this important department. So many benefit from it and others would become lost without it.
For a list of senators & reps look on-line, or:
Rep. David Clark (1831 Red Mountain, Santa Clara, UT 84765)
Rep. Bradley G. Last (640 E. 700 S. Ste 303, St. George, UT 84770)
Remember, only personal stationary IE: no business letterhead
You can also email them.
Thank you so much, and let's make sure we can keep these services for everyone for a VERY long time!

Nesting for Dads?
I bought this bear on clearance because I thought it would be cute for my son to have. That part I'm not curious about. That's just good shopping.
However, the other day I had the bear sitting in my bedroom chair as I was getting ready for bed. I threw my pants on top of the bear and put on my PJ's. Then I looked over at the bear with my pants laying over him and I just had to dress the bear up.
He's a rather large bear as you can tell. Those are my pants, and the belt isn't cinched as tight as it would be on me. I'm a little afraid that he looks better in my jeans than me. I am glad though that someone (something) has shorter legs than me.
Anyway back to my question: Was this some sort of man-nesting thing, or was it the simple curiosity that most boys have?
Oh, and guess what. Yesterday I felt my baby move!!!

Bellies!
Unfortunately with the baby growing comes the part of pregnancy that we (especially her) have been dreading the most. The old ladies trying to inappropriately touch my wife phase is just around the corner. Even before we were married Elisha and I discussed how much she doesn't like the idea of total strangers coming up to her and patting her belly. We just don't get why people think this is okay. Don't get me wrong, I understand the urge. The miracle of pregnancy is a beautiful thing, I love to touch Elisha's belly, but I know her! I see pregnant women everyday, I think it's awesome that there is a little baby inside their bellies, but I don't reach out and start touching them, they are strangers! Now if you know a pregnant person and you ask permission then I see nothing wrong with touching the pregnant belly. If anybody has any advice on how you've prevented this we'd be happy to hear about it. If you disagree with me, I don't want to hear it and keep your hands to yourself!

Happy New Year!!!
Thank you so much to all who came to our "Oh, and I guess it's New Year's" party. We had so much fun playing games all night with our friends. This was certainly the biggest group that we have ever hosted at our house. Most of the regulars were here: Lyman, Jen, Rebecca, Rachel, Amy, and Jess. A few faces that we've seen in the past: Beth, Jackie, Brittney, and Clyde. And some that made their first appearance at one of our events: Redheads mom, her husband J, Bubba, Kafra, Catherine, and Don. And of course Elisha and I were there, too. We hope that everyone had enough fun to come back next time. I was very excited to see that the blog invite was successful, nearly half the people there came because they read about it on the blog.
I hope you enjoy the video, there wasn't a very big variety of pictures. I'm sorry the fireworks ones are so blurry, but it was so cold I couldn't hold my camera still.
I know the music is a little somber for party pictures. I promise we were having fun. I just couldn't think of a more appropriate song for a New Year's video.
I hope 2009 treats you well. I have a feeling it will be good for most of us. A lot of my friends will be graduating school this year, others are finally starting school again. A lot of people I know are having babies this year, and I'm sure that will make this a very memorable year for them. The fact that I'm included in that group has already put 2009 on my list of favorite years of all time.
