4 Months

Our little Harrison is 4 months old today. We can't believe how fast the time has gone. We LOVE you, Harrison, more and more each day! Now, please stop growing.

Harrison was laughing and talking just before the camera came on. He does this all the time: whenever he's acting cute, we bring out the camera, and he freezes. But, it's cute daddy-son time.

Now Harrison's rolling and scooting on his back. On this video you can't tell too much, but he had started in the middle of the blanket, and now he's off! We've been finding him in the corner of his crib in the mornings. This morning we found him rolled over onto his stomach. Too bad he hasn't figured out that he can roll back over!

Company Party

Normally, my company party wouldn't be worth a blog post, but since I have an amazingly beautiful son, everything becomes post worthy.

It was a fun little party. We had a whole park to ourselves. There were bounce houses for the kids, as well as a rock-climbing wall for everyone:

That's Lyman and I as we're about to race up the wall. We both fell off. Lyman eventually conquered his climb, but I had to go to the kiddie side to enjoy the satisfaction of sounding the siren at the top.

Additionally, there were little games for the kids, plenty of food, and Bingo. There was also face-painting:

And that is what happens when you let Lyman babysit. I guess it could of been worse; they were doing tattoos as well.

I took this picture with my phone, so the lack of light makes it hardly worth posting, but he is just so cute.

We finished the night with a quick game of basketball. Of course, my team won.

Overall, it was a pretty fun experience, and we even won a watermelon.

Creepy Crawlies

So, living in a desert certainly creates wonderful wildlife opportunities. I had one such last week.

Harrison and I had just arrived home from eating with Jason at work. We walked in, and what did I see? A 'charly'! (That's what I call lizards, a term I gained from my mission). Charly was crawling on my counter amidst homework and mail, zooming this way and that! I put Harrison down to check out Charly.

So, I didn't want this cute little creature to roam my home, possibly to get killed, so, I caught him!

After catching any little creepy crawly, no matter how cute, you must figure out how to put them in a more suitable container. So, I had this dilemma to deal with. I got a small, plastic container, perfect for bending so Charly could crawl right in. I moved the pan lid to the edge of the counter, much to his pleasure, because he was sure he was getting out. HA! Well, he would have, but I became nervous. After a couple minutes, I came back, and decided I'd get him in the container and outside. So, I inched the lid over the counter, this is where I wish Jason had been home to video, and got ready to snap the lid on. Wouldn't you know it that Charly would walk in a horse shoe trail, not a circle? And wouldn't you know it that the gap that could have set him free was where the horse shoe stopped? So, I waited about 10 minutes cheering Charly on. FINALLY, he slowly, thankfully slowly, crept into the container. The lid snapped on, and he went crazy! As I promised, even though I wanted Jason and Charly to meet, I took Charly outside.

We have a back patio, covered, but carpeted with the neighbor's leaves. (They're always the neighbor's, right?) So, I let Charly go, and he was pretty happy. Made me wonder though, how many of his brothers and sisters I may have stepped on before. So, with my good deed done, I turned to the sliding glass door, unfortunatlely guarded by an annoying moth and a barata (cockroach). "Not in my house," I thought. So, tapped on the glass so the spying barata would leave, then I batted the moth to the ground, where he stayed. Good. Wouldn't you know it that as soon as I opened the glass door the moth flew in? Right to the light at least. I was so annoyed with the creepy crawlies, so I swung like crazy. Luckily he (interestingly bugs are always male) landed on the light, and I hit him with my flip-flop. Down he fell, but wouldn't you know it still alive?! I grabbed that dumb moth and threw him into the toilet ocean, and sent him surfing! Good riddance.

Harrison's Blessing

Elisha and I were so happy to have blessed our beautiful baby boy. We did this on July, 26 2009. I performed the blessing with all of our close friends and family members in attendance. It was almost surprising how many people made the trip for our wonderful boy. But then, if you've seen our boy, you understand why.

His amazing outfit was made by Grandma McCullough, using leftover material from Elisha's wedding dress.

Afterward we had everybody over for food at our place. I think Uncle Dean put it best when he said that we had to get a bigger place before we do something like this again. We stuffed over 40 people into our little condo, but we had a great time. Thanks to everybody that came.

Harrison has always been popular with the ladies. This is one of his new friends, Makaylah. The daughter of our friends, Stacy and Dave.

I'm a little worried about the influence that Uncle Jer will have on our son. As you can tell by this picture, so far he hasn't done anything to help me with those worries.

Of course, we had to take advantage of the whole family being present. It's not often that you find this many of us together, and in nice clothes as well. This is Jason's side of the family.

This is Elisha's side of the family.

I guess "five generations" pictures are all the rage, this one has four. I guess Harrison's grandmas are going to have to hang around for another 25 years so we can get the "five."
