Well not this blog, and the blog I'm referring to is not really for her but it is certainly in response to her. I recently criticized Kathy for not updating her blog often enough. She promptly updated, and then had no problem pointing out the time between posts on this blog.
Part of the problem in updating this blog is choosing between fun and school. I would much rather update than do homework, but occasionally I do the responsible thing so the blog is pushed aside. The rest of the problem has to do with the nature of this blog. Elisha and I really wanted this blog to be a big events kind of thing. Kinda like a digital scrapbook, and, like a regular scrapbook, you don't document the daily things-you keep track of the big stuff.
Problem solved. I have created a personal blog just for me. This blog can serve as more of journal style instead of scrapbook style of blog. On this blog I will respond to "tags" and such things. I hope you enjoy reading about the things that I like to write about.
For the first post I didn't do much talking. I figured the picture would say all that it needs to say for now.
The blog is linked on our blogs I follow list. Or you can go to thegeniusofjason.blogspot.com

I was about to begin a much needed nap, but I decided to do my usual online check: e-mail, new blog posts, etc. I was reading a post on Perfectly Squared when I noticed our blog listed in her Blogs I Follow list. Underneath our name it said "Updated 20 hours ago."
I couldn't believe that 20 short hours ago I was posting the Belly Update. So much has happened in that time, and none of it was sleep!
Right after I posted the update, I headed to the bank, then to get the oil changed and a flat fixed on my car, I proceeded to head directly to SLC to celebrate my mom's birthday.
Here it is 20 hours later and I'm back home. The birthday has been celebrated, I almost slept a bit, and I even made it to class this morning. I had to leave SLC at 3:30, but I made it.
I know I'm not the first person to make a round trip to SLC in less than a day, and I probably wouldn't have posted anything about it except that it was because of my mom, which made it worth it.
This part is for my mom, but you can read it if you want: I was very proud to go celebrate your 20th birthday. It's a big deal for you, and it's a big deal for our family. In a lot of ways I think that not only did you restart your life that day, but you helped us all begin our lives anew. It was the most important decision you have ever made, and I am happy that you've been so successful for 20 years now. Happy Birthday, Mom!

Belly Update: Have I Cursed My Wife?
What have I done to my wife? I was so excited for her to finally start showing, and now I'm starting to feel really guilty. I'm trying really hard not to say that her belly is huge, but well it is.
The doctor agrees. At the last appointment he said that she is measuring about 4 centimeters or something larger than where she should be, or maybe he said she grew 4 centimeters more than he expected, either way she's bigger than expected.
I know all women and babies grow at different rates, but we're hard pressed to find someone with a bigger baby bump. We know a lot of other women who are pregnant, and by the looks of it they should be a month or so behind Elisha. However, we ask them when they're due, they say crazy stuff like "next week." Next week! They look so tiny.
I really am worried that my desire for Elisha to start showing has cursed her to have a giant baby. For the record, it may be true that she is carrying a giant baby, but that is not a fault of genetics on my part. I may be big now, but when I was born I was less than 8 lbs.
The whole reason I was so anxious was so that this would all feel "real" to me. We'll it does. I look at Elisha; I see our baby growing. I can feel him move. It's real enough. I think it's okay if she stops growing, the baby can continue to develop, he'll just have to do it in the space he has.
