Kite Festival

Every April, St. George has a Kite Festival at a local golf course. The first year we went, it was pretty low-key. There weren't any booths, but lots of room and wind to fly a kite. Seeing the sky full of kites is just so fun! Each year it has become more popular. This year there were tons of booths, but faulting in wind.

We were looking forward to going, just to have an experience with Harrison. So, even though we just had a baby 2 weeks ago, the baby stayed at home with Namaw, and we had a day out with Harrison. (Thanks to Jeremy and Brandon for coming to help!)

Harrison loves to see the school buses around town, so we were excited about was the shuttle ride on the school bus and looking forward to Harrison's reaction. You can't tell, but he's excited, just checking everything out.

There was an area for kids to play games. Harrison really enjoyed fishing for ducks. In fact, he threw a fit when we had to give other kids a turn.

Hanging out with Uncle Jeremy. Also a great way to keep Harrison from running away. He was loving the big, open space, so would just take off.

Kendall hanging out back at home. Cutie!

Kendall's Birth Story

At 8:06 this morning Kendall McCall Jones was born. The runt of the family; he only weighs 8 lbs 6 oz. He is also a bit shorter than his brother was at 20 inches.

Kendall was born C-section just like his brother. Since the doctors assumed the same things would happen with Kendall that happened with Harrison, this was a decision that was made early on. While it may not be the preferred way to go, having a baby in our arms an hour after we got to the hospital was certainly nice.

As it turns out, there were a couple of things that could have gone wrong had he been born naturally. His umbilical cord was knotted. Luckily it was loose enough that it wasn't a problem, but it may have tightened during the labor and delivery process. Also, the soft-spot on his head is a little small which may have made it difficult for him to mold to the birth-canal.

Mom and Baby are both doing well. Most people are saying that he looks just like Harrison did when he was born. For the most part I agree. I think Harrison had more/darker hair, and of course he was never that small.

I feel like I'm doing Kendall a disservice with this post, but really, everything went so well there isn't a lot to say. We woke up first thing this morning, walked across the street, and had a baby. Or, as Jeremy puts it, we popped across the street to the local 7-11 to pick up a slurpee, some junk food, and a baby while were there.

Baby's Room

Baby boy #2 now has a room, thanks to Jackie Harris & Crew for painting and Elisha's dad, Tim, and Jason for building a wall!

Our master bedroom has an extra large area, so we decided to wall it off for the baby's room. We want him to have his own area right off the bat. After a long weekend, lots of dust and mess, it's done and looks great! Now to figure out the furniture arrangement.

The construction:

The wall that faces our bedroom has yet to be painted. That's a project for Jason and his brother, Jeremy, while Elisha's in the hospital!

Basketball!

Papa came down this weekend and brought a basketball hoop for Harrison. This was perfect timing because Jason cleaned out the back patio, and Harrison has really enjoyed playing back there. He begs to go outside everyday, all day.

Harrison LOVES balls, too! We blame Signing Time, but it's fun to see him play and get excited about throwing and kicking them.

Score!

La La La

Harrison LOVES to sing! He'll break out in song, and he's so cute doing it! Sometimes he'll even add a vibrato (shaking his voice). Often the words are made up, but sometimes he actually makes sense. Harrison's new song that he loves from nursery is Once There Was a Snowman. He likes to say 'tall, tall, tall.'

You may be wondering why can't we see his face. Harrison doesn't perform on command, so as soon as he started singing, the camera was ready! Enjoy our future Troy Bolton!

Famous & Talented Harrison

So, Harrison is famous! He entered the Harmon's Grocery Store coloring contest and won for his age group! Mommy knew he'd win, of course. Harrison was very deliberate when coloring. He spent particular time on each of the character's noses. So cute! We're very excited for him! The prize: $5 to spend at Harmon's.

Harrison loves to take our shoes and show them off. Here he is in Mommy's shoes, and doing it beautifully! In heels, nonetheless!

Turning 30 at 34 Weeks

Yep, Elisha's THIRTY! My, how the time's flown. We spent the day as a family, ending at Red Robin for some nummy food.

The baby's sure growing! We find out on Thursday morning, March 3 when he'll be coming officially. Confused? Since Harrison was so big and to come via c-section, so will his little brother. Thursday we arrange the official day with the surgeon. Talk about more scary! When you have a due date, you know you'll give birth sometime around then. With a c-section, it's set; no wondering when the big day's going to happen. Whoa! But, we're sure excited to have the little guy in our arms.
