We're expecting!

This is an assignment Jason did for a writing class after we found out we are expecting:

3 October, 2008

After two years of trying and failing; being told that it isn't possible by a number of doctors. After six months of grueling paperwork, and finally being approved. After countless prayers. An answer comes. The answer we have been hoping for has finally been given. The answer is yes. Elisha is the first to find out. Of course she is flooded with emotions. She wants to tell me in some sweet, special way, but when she sees me the flood-gates open again. All she can think to do is to cry, and beyond that, to apologize. She apologizes for being impatient. She apologizes for her biting behavior. Most of all, she apologizes for forcing me to be there at the end, and the beginning.

I am overwhelmed. It takes me quite awhile to figure out what she is talking about. Once I do; I'm stunned. I didn't expect this. I knew something was coming, but I didn't expect this. I don't know what to do. So, naturally, I apologize. I apologize for making her cry. I apologize for not understanding. I apologize for doubting.
