Florida: Arrival

Since both Jason and Elisha graduated college, we decided we deserved a graduation trip! So, after much deliberation, we chose Hogwarts School of Magic, located in sunny Florida on the Universal Islands of Adventure Park. You didn't know that? You thought it was in England? HA!

We stayed at the Lowe's South Pacific hotel, which was very nice! It's on-sight, so no car needed! If we didn't want to walk the 7 minute tree and river lined trail, we could take a water taxi (fancy word for boat).

The layout of the hotel. 3 towers, we're in #2, the furthest.

Our room & view:

Why would a nice hotel need a hokey frog? Why would they want to line the bridge with them, plus have them in the lobby holding signs? I don't know, but they did.

Umbrellas go with the theme, plus are super fun to use! (no, we didn't, but wanted to!)

We arrived at the Orlando airport around 4pm. Forgot to take his picture, but our ride was holding a sign with JONES written. We've always wanted to do that!

WE'RE HERE!
For dinner, Bubba Gump's! Like the movie "Forrest Gump"? Then you'll really enjoy this place themed after the fun film. If your table says "Run Forrest Run" the waiters keep passing by. Change it to "Stop Forrest Stop" and ANY waiter will stop to help you out. Oh, and the sea food's nummy too!

License Plates at Bubba Gump's we thought were too ironic: just were in Utah, now we're in Florida!

We spent the rest of the evening chilling at the pool and taking in the City Walk, where everything happens at night.

Oh, one nice thing about staying at a hotel on-sight: you can have your souvenirs sent to your room so you don't have to lug them around with you! House elves are so wonderful.

Seeing Red!

When we planned our trip away, Jason and I thought it'd be a great idea to make like we were different people. I though, "Hey! New hair color!" I did not, however, plan on this sexy red look.

First, my wonderful bro-in-law, Jeremy willingly gave his day to play with my hair. We decided on a nice auburn for low lights. Some of them were an awesome flame-red. Others, too light, almost pink.

Well, that didn't look right. You can't figure out where you foiled the hair before, so trying again would not work. Let's try the auburn all over the head.

Now, in pictures, it works. But it was really ashy colored. Dang it! Poor Jeremy. Mom took me to Sally's and we picked out a striking, deep red, and left it in for 40 minutes.

Whoa! You bet no one knew me in Florida! It's been a fun change, and I'm finally getting used to it. I have to make sure I don't pick out any funny outfits since blonds and red heads do not wear the same colors well. Pink? HA!

Random Fun

Don't ever leave your homework out with a pen accessible to a rolling baby. He will 'eat' it.

Aw, Harrison's growing so big! Yep, works at Harmon's with Daddy.

At the Harmon's store party, they had awesome face painting. When you have a blank palette, the options are endless!

An angry Harrison. He was flipping out over something ridiculous.

Kendall's 6 month

Kendall's getting SO big! Another kid who won't listen when told to stay little. At least he is paying attention and staying cute. For instance, he either has a Cabbage Patch baby smile or is sticking his tongue out, as shown below. The first day he discovered his tongue, he just sucked on it - too cute! And talented!

Monday, October 4, 2011 Kendall had his 6 month appointment. Stats are as follows:
  • 15.3 lbs (41%)
  • 26" long (81%)
  • Head 92% (and people wonder why a c-section was necessary!)
Sunday, October 3 seemed a good time to give Kendall his first baby food (we had started cereal a couple weeks prior and he gobbled it up). Here's what happened with the first baby food (sweet potatoes):

He loved them! When he eats, Kendall keeps saying, "mmmmm". Reminds Elisha of her MTC comp who would do that during meals. Hey, good food is good food!

Kendall loves to laugh and is even rolling over and scooting to get where and what he wants. Harrison is not appreciating his toys disappearing so much. He has 2 bottom teeth, which are so darn cute when he smiles! Unfortunately the red hair seems to be fading. He says "dadada" a lot. We're hoping to get "mamama". But, it's fun to say, "He wants you, Jason!"

Harmon's Bagger Champ!

Someone needs to brag, and it's going to be Elisha. Jason can fill in the extra details.

Jason is an awesome bagger! Are you? You could find out if you ever competed in the bagger competition! What? You didn't know that existed? Hum. Here's how it goes down: a store, such as wonderful Harmon's, will have a competition compiling of baggers and checkers. The goal is to bag 2 bags of specific groceries under 40 seconds (really 40's bad). At Jason's store, he won 1st place! He was the fastest bagger (even though he's a checker)!

Winning in your own store means you go to the company competition. So, the top 2 baggers, that's Jason, flew to SLC to see who would be deemed the best in the company. He didn't get 10th, or 8th, or 5th. He didn't get 3rd, but he did earn second! Amazing! Jason was especially pleased because he got as far as this competition, but that was it.

The top 2 in the company (And the funny thing, both were from the St. George store!) go to the state competition, which included all Associated Goods such as Macy's, Albertson's, etc. Jason really did awesome! They don't mention what place you earned after the top 3 are announced, but Jason was in the top 5. I say he won 4th. Those in the top 3 continue onto national's, then that winner goes onto the David Letterman Show!

Jason, you're fantastic and I think it's so fun! Another great poster to hang up and smile at us:)

Bob and Randy introducing the contestants:

On your mark, get set, GO!

Going!

Interview with Randy, and waiting to hear what's the score.

Tada! The trophies, shaped like paper grocery bags. Complete with cash prizes, too!

HiLaRiOuS

It's true: Kendall adores Harrison. When Harrison laughs, it makes Kendall laugh harder. We've been trying to document how much Kendall laughs with Harrison. Well, enjoy! We were laughing so hard, we had tears!

Kendall's 4 Months!

Kendall had his 4 month check up on Monday, August 8 (Jason's birthday). He's growing too fast and so incredibly sweet. Here are the stats:

Weight: 15.3 lbs (in the 41%)

Length: 26" (in the 81%)

Head circumference: in the 92%

Just a day or so before we found that Kendall had cut his first tooth! Yesterday, Jason found another! Now he has his 2 bottom teeth. It's so cute, but we weren't ready for this stage, yet. We even felt shocked when the doctor said Kendall could start with cereal now. Whoa!
